Abstract
The article is devoted to an important stage in the development of gastroenterology – the discovery of Helicobacter pylori. In this work the authors present the historical aspect of the data of world literature touching finding out H. pylori in the gastric mucosa, establishing its role in the etiology of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease of stomach and duodenum. The authors also consider the problems arising up at eradication H. pylori, and indicate the need for further development of effective and safe means for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the mucous membrane of the stomach and duodenal ulcers associated with H. pylory.References
