License and Other Conditions for Publishing Articles

From 2022, all journal articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA) license.

The authors retain the copyright of their article and grant the journal the right of its first publication under the terms of the specified license, which allows others to freely distribute and adapt the published article for non-commercial purposes, provided that they attribute the authorship, provide a link to the original publication of the article in this journal, indicate any changes (if such were made), and license all derivative works under identical terms. The authors have the right to enter into independent additional agreements regarding the non-exclusive distribution of the work in the form in which it was published by this journal (for example, depositing the work in electronic repositories, publishing it as part of a monograph, or on personal websites), provided that a reference to the first publication of the article in this journal is preserved. Placing the article on the Internet and making it publicly available by other means permitted by the CC BY-NC-SA license is allowed after the final publication on the website with DOI activation. The publisher allows the author to deposit the final version of the article in an institutional or subject repository, where it is made available in open access.

Each co-author of the article must have participated in the research presented in the publication, approved the final version of the publication, and bears responsibility for all aspects of the work. At least one co-author must be responsible for developing the research concept, study design, data collection, statistical processing and interpretation of data, writing, or critically editing the article. All authors must confirm that the manuscript is the result of their joint work, has not been previously published, and has not been submitted for consideration to other editorial offices. All authors must approve each version of the manuscript (initial and revised) that is submitted to the editorial office.

The corresponding author acts on behalf of all co-authors of the article, is responsible for coordinating all versions of the manuscript with the other authors, provides, on behalf of all authors, consent to the editorial office for the processing and publication of all co-authors' personal data, and bears responsibility for the accuracy of the information regarding conflicts of interest.

All journal manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening and peer review using a double-blind procedure (authors do not know the reviewers, and reviewers do not know the authors). Reviewing is carried out by specially selected reviewers who have the relevant expertise and qualifications and undergoes editing. Each publication has an active DOI code. The editorial board encourages the submission of open (FAIR) data together with the manuscript and publishes them alongside the article. The article and its metadata may also contain links to FAIR data published in institutional, national and/or international research data repositories, with the DOI of such data indicated. Each article that describes the results of research involving humans and laboratory animals includes information on compliance with international and national bioethical standards, the obtaining of voluntary informed consent from patients or their legal representatives, the results of the ethics committee review of the study design and methods, and compliance with confidentiality in the storage of personal data.

Author Fees

The editorial office sends an invoice for payment to the authors of articles accepted for publication. The payment only partially reimburses the publisher's costs of publishing the magazine. Publication in the journal is paid by the authors in the amount:

- postgraduate student of the Kharkiv National Medical University separately (the article has one author) ‒ 45 UAH (approximately 1.1 USD) per manuscript page;
- an employee of the Kharkiv National Medical University separately (the article has one author) ‒ 55 UAH (approximately 1.3 USD) per manuscript page;
- all others, and if the article has more than one author ‒ 75 UAH (approximately 1.8 USD) per manuscript page.

If a published article is withdrawn by the editorial board due to discovered facts of dishonesty (re-publication, falsification of data, etc.), the payment is not refunded.
